About Lava ClayWhat is Lava Clay?Lava Clay is an independent ceramics brand creating handmade ceramic pieces, including functional pottery and decorative art objects.Our work celebrates the beauty of handmade forms, natural textures and considered details.Are your pieces handmade?Yes. Our ceramics are made by hand using a combination of wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques.Each piece is unique, and subtle variations are part of the process.Will my piece look exactly like the photographs?We aim to photograph each piece as accurately as possible.Because our ceramics are handmade and glazes can respond differently during firing, slight variations in colour, shape, texture and finish may occur.We recommend reviewing all product photographs and descriptions before purchasing.Will a piece be restocked once it sells out?Some pieces are one-off artworks, while others may be produced in small quantities.If a piece is sold out, it may not be available again. Available options and costs are displayed at checkout.How long will my order take to arrive?Please allow 48hrs for order preparation, plus the carrier's estimated delivery time.Delivery timeframes vary depending on your location and the shipping service selected.How are ceramics packaged?We take care to package our ceramics securely to help protect them during transport.However, if your order arrives damaged, please contact us with photographs so we can assess the issue.Can I track my order?If tracking is available for your shipping method, tracking details will be provided once your order has been dispatched.Returns and refundsCan I return an item if I change my mind?We generally do not offer change-of-mind returns or exchanges.However, this does not affect your rights under Australian Consumer Law.What if my item arrives broken?Please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and photographs of the damaged item and packaging.Keep the item and packaging while we assess the issue. We will work with you to determine the appropriate resolution.Can I return a seconds item?Disclosed imperfections on seconds items are part of the sale and are not, by themselves, grounds for a change-of-mind return.Your consumer rights still apply to other faults or issues that were not disclosed before purchase.Caring for your ceramicsHow should I care for my ceramic piece?Care instructions may vary depending on the piece, glaze and intended use.Unless a product listing specifically confirms otherwise, we recommend handwashing your ceramics with a soft sponge and mild detergent.Avoid sudden temperature changes, as thermal shock can cause cracking.Are your pieces dishwasher or microwave safe?Please check the individual product description for specific care instructions. Do not assume a piece is dishwasher, microwave or oven safe unless this has been confirmed for that item.Are your ceramics food safe?Please refer to the individual product listing for information about intended use.
